A wise partnership

Wise Investment has been actively supporting Katharine House Hospice since 2023 and over the years our partnership has grown from strength to strength.

The wealth management business, based in Chipping Norton, has a small but dedicated and passionate team who support charities and community groups in and around Chipping Norton. The team have a very personal connection to the hospice, after losing two friends and colleagues within a year at Katharine House.

A partnership that blossomed

It all began back in the summer of 2023, when our Corporate Engagement Officer Sue, met some of the Wise Investment staff and their CEO, Alex Rae at a networking event hosted by Whitley Stimpson. Alex mentioned that the staff would love to give something back to the hospice, either through volunteering or gifts in kind. A few weeks later, the team at Wise Investment purchased, built and donated two huge planters filled with summer flowers for our Living Well patio. The planters were the perfect addition to our garden and loved by our Living Well patients, who continue to maintain the plants each year.

The following year, the team joined us for a volunteer session in our garden, as the business gives the staff volunteer days each year. The team helped spruce up the garden ready for the summer months, all whilst learning new gardening skills and other ways they could support the hospice.

Taking on a challenge

It soon became apparent that the team loves a challenge and has a competitive streak. In December 2024, staff took part in the Santa Fun Run for the first time and enjoyed it so much they couldn’t wait for the next one!

In June 2025, the team partnered up with Evenlode Investment and took part in a 13 mile memory walk in honour of their colleague Amanda, who sadly passed away at Katharine House Hospice in February that year, following her cancer diagnosis. Collectively, the two businesses raised a staggering £22,760 for the hospice, plus a further £1,183 in Gift Aid. It was an extremely hot day but that didn’t stop the team as they walked together in memory of their much-loved friend and colleague. Originally, the team wanted to raise £14,500 (the cost to run all hospice services for one day) but they increased that to £20,000 after hitting the target before the walk even started!

Later that year, the team signed up to the 2025/26 Accumulator Challenge. This was the first time that Wise Investment had taken part in the challenge and they hit the ground running, hosting a Christmas market and teaming up with Chipping Norton Choral Society at Christmas to raise money for the hospice. The team raised an incredible £4,139 in just four months and were runners up for ‘most money raised by a business award’. The team have vowed to take part in the next challenge and have their sights firmly set on winning the ‘most money raised by a business award’ the second time around.

This October, Will from Wise Investment will be taking on our Trek China challenge, alongside family members of Sarah, a friend and colleague of the Wise and Evenlode team, who passed away at the hospice in January 2026. Will is already busy fundraising and training and can’t wait to take on this epic challenge.

“We have supported Katherine House hospice for a number of years now, joining events such as the Accumulator challenge, Santa Fun run, a Wise team member is doing the China trek later this year as well as doing a volunteer day in the KHH garden. We are all very lucky to have this amazing hospice so close to us and so we feel it is really important to support it so that we don’t lose it. In the last 18 months we have sadly lost two colleagues, both of whom received care at KHH. This has made our support even more personal. We know how much this meant to them both and their families and we will of course continue to support going forward in their memory.” – Alex Rae, CEO of Wise Investment

Supporting each other in other ways

Wise Investment understands the importance of supporting the hospice through sponsorship, as a way to help cover our costs and raise awareness of their brand. Corporate sponsorship ensures that the money raised at our events goes directly back into supporting our patients and their families.

Over the years, the business has sponsored the Santa Fun Run and our supporter e-newsletter and, this year, we are delighted they are joint sponsors, with 4th Corner Landscaping, of our 2026-27 Open Gardens campaign.

Thank you Wise Investment
